he Coastal Defence Strategy 2007 sets out the preferred option for managing the coastline at East Head. This website is designed to explain the strategy, as far as one is able from the very limited information provided, and to point out some of the potential impacts on the harbour and its coastline. We invite you to consider the points that have been made in the hope that they may encourage you to want to do something about it.
The Environment Agency with Chichester and Arun District Councils have produced a strategy
for managing coastal flooding and erosion between Pagham Beach and East Head. The Strategy
sets out the preferred options and seeks the views of the public before a finalised view is adopted
as policy by the government. This briefing note responds only to the proposals as they affect East
Head and the implications for Chichester Harbour and its’ coastline.
